Rajinikanth felicitated at 56th IFFI: I would like to be born as an actor in all my births

At the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa, superstar Rajinikanth was honored for his remarkable 50-year journey in cinema. The actor attended the event with his family and expressed his gratitude for this significant recognition.

Rajinikanth, affectionately known as Thalaivar and Superstar, received accolades at IFFI on its final day. His illustrious career in Indian cinema was celebrated, marking a significant milestone in his 50 years of contributions.

Gratitude and Reflection

During the ceremony, Rajinikanth remarked, “My heartfelt thanks to government for honouring me in completing 50 years in cinema. When I look back, it only appears like 10-15 years. Time flew just like that. That is because I like and love cinema and acting. So even for 100 janams (births), I would like to be born as an actor and Rajinikanth.” He also expressed appreciation for his fans in Tamil Nadu who have supported him throughout his career.

Tributes and Future Projects

As Rajinikanth completes 50 years since his debut in Apoorva Ragangal, Hindustan Times made a historic change to its masthead, rebranding it to Rajinikanth Times as a tribute. With over 170 films to his name, he remains one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema.

Currently, Rajinikanth is working on Jailer 2 with director Nelson Dilipkumar, although the release date is yet to be revealed. Additionally, a new project titled Thalaivar 173 was announced, which was initially to be directed by Sundar C, but he has since withdrawn from the project for unspecified reasons.
